Tze Yong

Tze Yong focuses on Corporate Responsibility at WATATAWA, helping businesses seeking to do good in a sustainable manner through an alignment with their core business. Prior to joining us, he was the Social Media Editor at The Straits Times, where he spear-headed the national broadsheet’s efforts to engage audiences on social media over a period that spanned the landmark 2011 General and Presidential Elections. Tze Yong also spent two years as the Special Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief of the English Newspapers Division at Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), where he was involved with the business development of SPH’s news websites such as StraitsTimes.com, BusinessTimes.com.sg, STOMP, Razor TV and AsiaOne, looking at issues such as the monetisation of online news content and print-online newsroom integration. His earlier journalism experience with The New Paper saw him covering crime, politics and the arts, and reporting from disaster and conflict zones such as Kosovo, Kashmir, Sichuan, West Bank and the Gaza Strip. He was named SPH’s Young Journalist of the Year in 2007. Tze Yong is a graduate of Brown University.

In his fitter days, Tze Yong played waterpolo; it wasn’t exactly a “sporting passion” but his long arms got him picked as goalie.
