Stephen has 20 years’ experience delivering strategic communications counsel across Asia-Pacific to a diverse range of regional and national corporate organisations, with an emphasis on corporate strategy and positioning, crisis and issues management and stakeholder communications. Stephen has extensive experience working with clients to navigate complex leadership, reputation and regulatory situations where communications insight, media insight and precision perform a critical role in achieving a business outcome. A corporate communications generalist, he has deep experience in the resources, technology, pharmaceutical, financial services sectors with a reputation for leading high-performance teams. Prior to joining WATATAWA he led Edelman’s APAC Crisis and Risk practice function as well as its Singapore financial communications practice. In addition, he was responsible for several multi-market client relationships across the sport, aviation, enterprise technology, tourism and hospitality sectors. Stephen is a hands-on practitioner who embraces complexity and business communications challenges with logic and creativity in close partnership with his client’s business and communications leaders. He is a past president of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Singapore.
